Third Person Arrested in Lumberton Murder Case

Investigators are still searching for two others that are believed to be involved.

A third arrest has been made in connection to the discovery of a deceased body found on February 1st. 22-year-old Timothy Jacobs was found in a car parked in a field in the area of Hornet Road and Meadow Road just outside of Lumberton. Two suspects were previously arrested and three more were wanted. 18-year-old, Xavier Davis, was taken into custody yesterday and is charged with the felony offenses of accessory after the fact and failure to report a death. He is currently being held at the Robeson County Detention Center with a $50 thousand secured bond. Investigators are still searching for a 16-year-old minor, and 22-year-old, Clonze McDuffie.
