Deal Reached Between Two Rail Unions And CSX
The agreement reached would provide 5,000 union members that are employed by CSX with paid sick leave.
CSX Transportation announced that it has reached a deal with two railroad unions.
The agreement was met between CSX and the ‘Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees Division’ as well as the ‘Brotherhood of Railway Carmen’. One of which represents engineers and the other represents mechanical workers.
The agreement reached would provide 5,000 union members that are employed by CSX with paid sick leave.
Employees will be granted four days of paid sick leave each year at full pay. The agreement also allows members to use up to three personal leave days for sick leave.
This is a key accomplishment in the on-going debate between railroad unions and their threats to go on strike until acceptable offers are brought to the table.
