Suspected China Spy Balloon Resulted In A Fallout

The Chinese government is attempting to assure that the balloon was “a civilian airship used for meteorological and other research purposes” and in fact not used for spying.

Two separate briefings are set to be held in the coming days, one classified solely for four party leaders of the House and Senate, and one for the rest of the Senate which is set for February 15th.
Multiple congressional hearings on U.S.-China relations are set to take place this week as well.
