Rare Lincoln Penny Sells for $535,000

It's a 1969 Lincoln Memorial penny with an "S". There were only about 100 of them made. Here's what to look for.

The coin has recently sold for a whopping $535,000 in a GreatCollection auction, which ended on Sunday. There are only about 100 of them around and have been valued between $16-$126k depending on condition.   Here’s what to look for:  a 1969 Lincoln Memorial penny with an” S” (printed in San Francisco).   On the heads side, there’s a double-die error of the date, the words, “In God We Trust” and Liberty.”  It looks sort of like it was stamped twice.   It never hurts to check your pocket, or couch for the coin, you just might be sitting on your rainy day fund!.
