A U.S. military operation led to the death of a senior ISIS leader.
Secretary of Defense, Lloyd Austin, confirmed that leader Bilal al-Sudani along with 10 members of the terror group were killed in Somalia. President Biden ordered the U.S. military to conduct the assault operation that resulted in the terrorists deaths.
Bilal al-Sudani was a key facilitator for ISIS’s global network. He was responsible for “fostering the growing presence of ISIS in Africa” as well as “funding the group’s operations worldwide, including Afghanistan”.
U.S. forces originally prepared to capture the senior leader, but “hostile force’s response” resulted in his death.
No troops or civilians were killed during the altercation.
