Man Arrested For Triple Murder
An investigation suspects that the motive behind the shooting could have been over missing money.
On Tuesday, a shooting occurred that left several dead and one person with multiple gunshot wounds.
Officials were called around 2:45p.m. to the 100th block of Samuel Williams Drive in Robeson County. Three deceased bodies were found along with a fourth person who was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.
The victims have been identified as 51-year-old, Donald Williams, 34-year-old, Sierra Weary, and 45-year-old, James Beauregard. The injured person is identified as 71-year-old, Equilla Biggs, and she is expected to be fine.
46-year-old, Corey Leak, was taken into custody around 4:30p.m. on Tuesday, after witnesses allegedly saw him fleeing the scene. He is facing charges of first-degree murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault with intent to kill, and possession of a fire-arm by a felon.
An investigation suspects that the motive behind the shooting could have been over missing money as there was an argument debating who had taken Leak’s money.
Leak was out on parole at the time after he was convicted on murder charges in July of 1996. He was originally sentenced to life regarding the 1996 case, but was released from prison in October of 2020. He was out on active parole until 2025.
Leak is now detained as more charges are expected to come. He is being held without bond.
