Robeson County Public Health Director, Dr. Bill Smith has passed away.

The doctors public health career first started with the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control in 1977. In 1988, he was appointed health director for the county health department.

Smith is well-known for his successful attempts to strengthen public health through partnerships and collaboration.

Some of his accomplishments include the establishment of three primary care clinics, and the development of a satellite animal shelter, along with many other successful accomplishments.
