China Travelers Must Provide Negative COVID Test

People coming from China to the U.S. will soon have to show a negative COVID-19 test result before flying to the country.

The United States has officially confirmed new requirements for travelers visiting from China.

People coming from China to the U.S. will soon have to show a negative COVID-19 test result before flying to the country. The new rules have been presented due to the easing of COVID restrictions leading to surges of cases in China.

Travelers coming from China must take a test no more than two days before flying and present proof of the negative test to their airline before boarding. Both PCR tests and antigen self-tests given through a telehealth service are accepted.

Passengers who test positive more than 10 days before their flight must provide documentation of their recovery if the test still shows negative.

The new rules will be put into effect at 12a.m. on January 5th.

Many other countries have already put the same rule into place.
