Sentencing Date Set For Man Convicted Of Murder
The man was found guilty on all counts regarding the kidnapping and killing of 80-year-old, Mary Ann Elvington.
A sentencing date has been set for the man convicted of kidnapping and killing 80-year-old, Mary Ann Elvington.
Elvington was kidnapped from her home in the Nichols area in Horry County on March 28th of 2021. She was forced to drive her kidnapper to Lake Waccamaw, North Carolina, then back to Lakeview in South Carolina.
The woman was then forced into the back seat of her vehicle, shot and left for dead at a grocery store at the Zion Crossroads in Marion County.
The vehicle owned by Elvington, was found abandoned in a wooded area behind a nightclub in Marion.
In September, Dominique Brand was found guilty on all counts of kidnapping resulting in death, car-jacking resulting in death, use of a fire-arm in furtherance of a crime of violence resulting in death of a person in such a manner to constitute murder.
Brand faces a sentence of up to life without parole or death on all the counts. His sentencing date will be held on January 6th.
