A 6.4 magnitude earthquake shook parts of Northern California leaving thousands of residents without power.

The quake had a depth of 10 miles near Eureka in Humbolt County. It continued to rock nearly 7.4 miles West-South West of Ferndale.

Afterward, over a dozen smaller tremors appeared to hit parts of the region.

Over 70 thousand customers remain in the dark as crews attempt to assess any damages the quake caused.

No reported injuries have been released at this time.
