El Paso Declares State Of Emergency

The mayor of a Texas city has declared a state of emergency as issues rise at the Southern Border.

As ‘Title 42’ ends on Wednesday, concerns have grown as to how the city of El Paso will handle the expected large amount of migrants that attempt to cross the border.

Mayor Oscar Leeser, issued the state of emergency declaration to allow the city on the U.S. border with Mexico, access to additional resources that could become necessary.

The El Paso Deputy City Manager, Mario D’Agostino said the declaration would give the city more flexibility in operating larger shelters as well as provide additional transportation for asylum seekers.
