The lawmakers accused him of not taking the migrant crisis issue at the U.S.-Mexico border seriously. GOP Republican leader Andy Biggs said that Mayorkas has released over 1 million illegal aliens into the country.

Republican Lauren Boebert accused Mayorkas of misleading congress by testifying under oath that the U.S. Southern Border was under control.

Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have begun planning an in-depth investigation into the border crisis, which could be the first step toward impeaching Secretary Mayorkas.
