Inflation Eases While Grocery Prices Remain High

From the beginning of the year to November the price of food rose 10.6%. Grocery prices were up 12% while menu prices hiked to 8.5%.

The price of food is affected by many factors such as extreme weather, diseases impacting crops and livestock, supply chain complications as well as geopolitical unrest such as the current war in Ukraine.

Various factors make it hard for the U.S. government to maneuver around rising interest rates to moderate food prices.
