The backup quarterback for Coastal Carolina University has been arrested and accused of assaulting a woman at a party over the weekend.

Bryce Carpenter allegedly started making sexual advances toward the victim. She reportedly moved away but he continued to follow her and attempted to grab and kiss her. Others witnessed the situation and pulled him away from her.

Later, Carpenter attempted to pursue the victim again. The victim stated she pushed him away which provoked him to grab her, pick her up, and throw her onto a sidewalk.

The incident report states that he fell on top of the victim as he threw her to the ground.

Carpenter has denied even being present at the party.

He was arrested and released on a $2,500 bond and is charged with third-degree assault and battery.

CCU announced that he is suspended indefinitely from all football related activities.
