Brittney Griner Transferred To Penal Colony

Griner has officially started her sentencing time frame

After days of speculation of where American WNBA star, Brittney Griner, was located after her sentencing, her lawyers have finally shared.

Griner has officially been transferred to a penal colony in Yavs, which is in the Western Russian region of Mordovia.

Her lawyers shared gratitude for all the support on behalf of Griner. They confirmed that she began serving her sentence at IK-2.

They shared how they visited her earlier this week and she is staying strong and doing fine considering the circumstances.

In February, Griner was detained in Moscow, for the possession of drugs. She further went to trial where her appeal was denied and she was sentenced to nine years for those charges.
