Suspect Responsible For Several Hour Stand-Off Is Publicly Identified

The suspect allegedly refused to come out of the house for hours despite police requests.

The identity of the man that incited a hours long stand-off last week, has been publicly released.

The North Myrtle Beach Police Department confirmed that 37-year-old, Adam Hayes, is the man accused of the incident.

The stand-off occurred after officers responded to a call reporting damage done to a vehicle that belonged to the sister of the suspect’s ex-girlfriend. While on the scene, officers were informed that Hayes walked into a house and had outstanding warrants against him.

Hayes allegedly refused to come out of the house for hours despite police requests. The SWAT team was called to the scene and Hayes eventually was detained.

He is charged with unlawful communication, domestic violence of high and aggravated nature, and second degree domestic violence. He is also charged with second degree harassment, neglect of vulnerable adult and exploitation of vulnerable adult.

Monday, he was released from jail on a $172 thousand bond.
