Wild Water & Wheels Announced It Is Officially Closing After 30 Years
The waterpark is part of a potential rezoning application to replace it with multifamily and commercial units.
The well known Wild Water and Wheels waterpark in Surfside has been on the list of a rezoning application since October.
The rezoning plan is for the future development of multifamily and commercial units. A timetable displays that construction is expected to start in winter of 2023 and continue through summer of 2024. The project plans to split the park into two districts one commercial and one residential.
The proposal stated that the attraction could stay open until construction plans were ready to move forward. However, through a social media post, the park confirmed it is officially closing after 30 years of operations.
No action has been taken to approve the rezoning.
A public hearing on the proposal is scheduled for December 6th.
