Over $1 Billion Has Been Granted To Assist Floridians In Recovery

Disaster survivor assistance specialists are going door to door in Florida to help individuals register for assistance.

FEMA has provided federal grants, disaster loans and flood insurance payments to help Floridians begin to recover from hurricane Ian.

Over $1 billion has been granted to the state. Nearly $550 million to households and $302 million to the state for emergency response and recovery. The U.S. Small Business Administration has provided $130 million in disaster loans, and the National Flood Insurance Program paid almost $100 million in claims.

FEMA is also covering hotel and motel costs for eligible survivors. Over 117 thousand home inspections have been conducted by FEMA for survivors who applied for federal disaster assistance.
