The Justice Department announced allegations against six Russian GRU officers for hacking and software deployment operations to attack other countries.

The GRU officers are accused of participating in computer intrusions “intended to support Russian government efforts to undermine, retaliate against or otherwise destabilize.”

The charges raise awareness of Russia’s cyber capabilities to destroy and interfere with the domestic political and economic systems of other countries.

It was asked if the U.S. has any evidence that display the potential targeting of the upcoming election. An official shared that there should be no concern and that every American should be confident that their vote is accounted for.
