The Jana Elementary School was contaminated with extreme levels of nuclear waste. The school lies in the Coldwater Creek area where atomic bombs were improperly stored during WWII.
An investigation detected waste in the schools library, kitchen, playground, gym and ventilation system. The levels have been claimed “unacceptable.”
The students were originally dismissed to virtual learning for the rest of the semester but, a decision has been made to shut the school down indefinitely.
All students have been assigned to other schools and will be able to return to in-person learning.
