British Prime Minister Liz Truss Resigns After Short Reign
The British Prime Minister will be resigning after serving less than two months in office.
The British Prime Minister announced she is resigning after serving less than two months in office.
Liz Truss’s resignation announcement comes after a chaotic and quickly withdrawn economic plan that caused the pound’s value to decrease extensively. As a result, the Conservative government spiraled.
Truss was appointed by Queen Elizabeth on September 6th and is now the shortest serving Prime Minister in British history. The previous record was set by George Canning for 119 days in office in 1770. Truss only served 44 days.
