The Oath Keepers trial is still on going and prosecutors have claimed that the group spent thousands of dollars in attempt to stop the peaceful transfer of presidential power.
In court, prosecutors shared that nearly $200 thousand in withdrawals were conducted from bank accounts connected to The Oath Keepers that month. There was evidence that the money was spent on purchases such as firearms, bullets, and other equipment. They provided receipts and text messages to display how some members collected the weapons.
Receipts included purchases of 14 magazines, 8 sights and 1 scope leveling kit. Evidence of text messages proved Oath Keepers founder, Stewart Rhodes, purchased guns online.
Prosecutors are using this information to convince a jury that Rhodes and group members were preparing for more than a peaceful rally on January 6th and believe violence was intended to happen.
