A Landslide In Venezuela Resulted In Death And Injuries

Venezuela’s President, Nicolás Maduro, declared 3 days of national mourning after a fatal landslide occurred.

Days of heavy rainfall resulted in the overflow of 5 streams of the Las Tejerias River. Maduro announced that he ordered the “maximum deployment” of the interior ministry and security agencies to respond to the emergency. Over 1,000 officials from the National Risk Management System and officers are assisting in the search and rescue operation. At least 25 deaths have been reported and more than 50 people are still missing.
