Carolina Kindness prompt:  Use and engage your skills with others!  Everyone can do something well.  We are all uniquely gifted with abilities and talents.  Share yours!  With the endless opportunities social media provides one idea is to join an online forum where others share your same passions. Communities allow us to engage, share our knowledge and learn from others.  It helps make us all better and stronger.

Cool stories this week:

Johanna Carrington has been an animal lover all her life.  100 years! The pup in her lap is Gucci. Gucci has lived a long life too at the shelter.  They recently found each other after Johanna’s daughter reached out to the local shelter to inquire about adopting.  Johanna has lots of love to give and Gucci loves to snuggle.   What a match!  Even the caregivers have become attached during  their daily walks.

This story has warmed the hearts of many.   A basektball player uses CPR to save a referee at a minor league game.  Myles Copleand who plays for a minor league team in Jamestown,  New York rushes over to perform CPR on a referee who collapsed during a game.  What you may not have known is that Copeland is also a firefighter and had just finished a shift before coming to the game. He didn’t hesitate to jump to action. and as a result was able to keep the referee alive until paramedics arrived.   You never know how your skills can serve a higher purpose.

Speaking of using your talents, students at Robeson Community College are doing just that!  Students are rolling out the red carpet tomorrow for the community!  They’re inviting you to come by campus for a free haircut, massage and a host of other services tomorrow, Oct. 6, from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.   It’s part of their first annual homecoming celebration!
