MYR Hosts Emergency Training Session

Myrtle Beach International Airport hosted a training event to evaluate and strengthen the airport’s emergency plans. Every 3 years, the FAA requires the airport to host a full scale exercise. This year 150 people including airport employees, fire fighters, paramedics, regional medical examiners, airline employees, and emergency responders from surrounding jurisdictions, participated. The training was based on an aircraft incident on the airfield. The airport and responders on incident management, fire fighting operations, triage and hospital transport, reunification and communication, were all tested throughout the training.
