Horry County Continues Projects To Repair Roads
Horry County council members confirmed that Ride III projects are on schedule and Ride IV is ready to begin. A few years ago Horry County residents voted to increase the level of sales tax by 1% in hopes to fund the building and fixing up of local roads. Over that time, nearly $600 million has been collected to back projects such as widening Carolina Forest Boulevard, extending palmetto pointe boulevard to highway 544, and even paving county dirt roads. For Ride IV, residents of the community will create a list of roads across the county in need of an update. The council will then decide which projects to approve and move forward on. It’s expected that the current list for Ride III will be completed my May of 2025 and the list presented for Ride IV will begin immediately after and finish in April of 2032.
