US Gas Prices Rise, First Time In Months
For more than 3 months, U.S gas prices consistently dropped for 98 consecutive days. On June 14th, gas hit a record of $5.02, prices have dropped everyday after. Tomorrow would have made the 100th day of dropping prices. The price plunge was a result of several factors, one being stronger supply and weaker demand as drivers balked at high prices. Also, unprecedented releases of emergency oil by the white house. Another fact that added to the drop was the growing concerns of a global recession. The price plunge was the second longest streak on record dating back to 2005.
