DHEC Reports First West Nile Virus Death of 2022 in SC
The South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental control stated that 1 person has died from the West Nile Virus. DHEC has confirmed 11 human cases of the virus so far. However, this is the first death due to the West Nile Virus in the state this year. Of the cases, nine are from the Midlands, with 6 from Richland County and 2 more in the Upstate.
