WNBA Legend Sue Bird Retires
Legendary WNBA player Sue Bird played her last game with the Seattle Storm last night. The 41 year old announced her retirement in June and finished yesterday’s game with 8 points and 8 assists. Seattle lost to the Las Vegas Aces 97-92 in game four in the best-of-five semifinal series. Bird played her entire career with the Storm where she had won four championships along with five selections to the All-WNBA first team and a record 12 all-star game appearances. She has also won five Olympic basketball golds with Team USA, two NCAA championships during college at the University of Connecticut and a national title at Christ The King High School in New York. The Aces will play either the Chicago Sky or the Connecticut Sun in the WNBA finals.
