Authorities Working to Identify Motive Behind Oregon Shooting
Investigators are trying to find a motive behind why a gunman entered a Safeway Grocery Store in Bend, Oregon over the weekend and began firing, killing two people and injuring at least two others. Police responded to the Forum Shopping Center around 7 p.m. Sunday night and could hear gunshots, then discovered the shooter dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The gunman was identified by police as 20 year old Ethan Miller, a resident of Bend. Bend Police contacted the Oregon State Police Bomb Squad after becoming aware of online postings the gunman made and the squad cleared the grocery store and a nearby apartment complex. After serving a search warrant at his apartment, authorities found digital devices that are now under review and identified blog entries appearing to belong to Miller detailing a plan and reasons for the shooting.
