Redacted Mar-a-Lago Search Warrant Affidavit Released
The Justice Department did meet the noon deadline to release a redacted version of the Mar-a-Lago search warrant affidavit. As of right now, the document has not been made publicly available. The affidavit is expected to give a better reason as to why investigators believe there was probable cause to search the Mar-a-Lago Resort and that crimes were committed. Yesterday, the DOJ submitted its proposed redactions to U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart who issued the order for the public release. In his order, Reinhart said the Justice Department convinced him to keep portions of the affidavit sealed because ‘disclosure would reveal the identities of witnesses, law enforcement agents, uncharged parties, the investigation’s strategy, direction, scope, sources, and methods, and grand jury information.
