Loris Woman Arrested for Arson, Resisting Arrest

A woman from Loris is behind bars after being accused of setting fire to curtains at a home she’s renting and fighting with officers when they tried arresting her. 40 year old Monique Johnson was arrested and charged with second-degree arson and resisting arrest. She is a tenant at a home on Highway 66 where she allegedly lit the curtains on fire. According to the report, the home filled with smoke and the curtains were burned along with the window and wall area. Johnson is being held at the J. Reuben Long Detention Center on a $21,000 bond.
