Dinosaur Tracks Found in ‘Dinosaur Valley State Park’ During Drought in Texas
The severe drought that’s ongoing in parts of Texas has revealed several unusual things including 133 million year old dinosaur tracks! The tracks found at Dinosaur Valley State Park belong to the Acrocanthosaurus or the Sauroposeidon. The Acrocanthosaurus stands at about 15 feet tall and weighs close to seven tons while the Sauroposeidon stands about 60 feet tall and weighs 44 tons as an adult. The drought that the park is observing this summer has caused a river in the area to dry out completely in most spots and revealed the tracks. More than 60% of Texas was experiencing drought last week in two of the most intense categories, according to the U.S. drought monitor.
