Judge Formally Rejects DOJ Argument on Affidavit

U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce Reinhart formally rejected the Justice Department’s argument to keep the entire affidavit that led to the search of former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Resort under seal. In the filing, Reinhart said he rejects ‘the government’s argument that the present record justifies keeping the entire affidavit under seal.’ And said he has given the Justice Department an ‘opportunity to propose redactions if I decline to seal the entire affidavit.’ Reinhart gave the government the deadline of August 25th at noon.
