Judge Moves to Release Parts of Mar-a-Lago Affidavit
Yesterday during the hearing into Mar-a-Lago, a federal judge set the motion to possibly release some information from the affidavit that the Justice Department used to obtain a search warrant of the property. Judge Bruce Reinhart said that he was planning to unseal portions of the affidavit. His announcement comes after the Justice Department revealed new details about the investigation into the handling of classified documents from the Trump White House. Reinhart said he wasn’t convinced yet that the entire affidavit should remain undisclosed to the public and plans to hear more from the Justice Department by next Thursday about how extensively investigators want to keep the document confidential. Those proposals will be due at noon on August 25th.
