South Carolina Tax Free Weekend Begins Today!

Tax Free Weekend in South Carolina began today! Now through Sunday at midnight, shoppers can expect to see the 6% state sales tax dropped from certain items as well as any Myrtle Beach local tax such as the 1% capital improvements tax and the 1% tourism development fee. Items included in the sale are clothing, shoes, school supplies, computers and printers as well as some bedroom and bathroom items. According to the South Carolina Department of Revenue, online shopping purchases will also be tax free. Tax Free Weekend started in the Palmetto State in 2000.
