Man Charged With Starting Fire on North Myrtle Beach Island Managed by CCU
A man has been charged with starting a fire that damaged a North Myrtle Beach island managed by Coastal Carolina University last month. 26 year old Lucas Standridge admitted to starting the fire on July 17th on Waties Island. He was arrested by North Myrtle Beach Police and has been charged with entry on another’s land for various purposes without permission; burning lands of another without consent; and willfully burning lands of another. The fire took place three days after Standridge was released on bond from the J. Reuben Long Detention Center after being arrested on July 4th by the South Carolina Highway Patrol and charged with disobeying a police officer, disregarding a traffic signal and being a pedestrian on a controlled access highway.
