Legendary Dodgers Announcer Vin Scully Dies at Age 94
Legendary sports announcer and voice of the LA Dodgers Vin Scully has died at the age of 94. The team announced the news of Scully’s passing through it’s official social media saying he was the ‘heartbeat of the Dodgers- and in so many ways, the heartbeat of all of Los Angeles.’ He joined the Brooklyn Dodgers at age 22 as their number three announcer to start the 1950 season. That was eight years before the team moved west to California. In total, Scully served as announcer for 67 seasons and in 2010 he was named the Greatest Sportscaster of All Time by the American Sportscasters Association.
