Updated Moderna, Pfizer Covid-19 Booster Expected in the Fall

Updated Moderna and Pfizer booster shots could be available as early as next month. According to an announcement made by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on Friday, the booster will target Omicron subvariants after the FDA advised the companies to update the booster in June. The HHS also announced an agreement to purchase 66 million doses of Moderna’s bivalent booster shot for potential use in the Fall and Winter which is in addition to 105 million boosters the government has already purchased from Pfizer.
