Saudi-Backed Golf Tournament Begins Today at Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster

Beginning today, the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster New Jersey will host the third event for LIV Golf. The tournament is the topic of recent controversy due to the courses closeness to the site of the World Trade Center Attack with it only being 50 miles away from the site of the towers. LIV Golf is a new Saudi-backed professional golf circuit. Former President Trump has promoted the event in interviews and public statements in recent weeks and even encouraged golfers to join LIV Golf and terminate their contracts with the PGA. Officials with the PGA of America pulled the 2022 PGA Championship from Bedminster following the Capitol Riots. In October, LIV Golf will be holding it’s final competition of the year at Trump National Doral in South Florida.
