There’s a health trend that is using the fungi of mushrooms to boost immunity. It has been used for centuries in traditional medicine for energy, mood, vitality, endurance, and brain function. Mushroom functionality was a Top 10 food trend in 2018, now varieties can be found such as the reishi, chaga, cordyceps and lion’s mane in powders and extracts to coffees, teas, and smoothies! Audra has tried a few brands and brought them on the show today. She ordered two different mushroom mixes: one from Kiki Green brand via Amazon, and one made popular by social media MUD/WTR, She favors MUD/WTR for it’s chai tea-like taste and handy mixer. MUD\WTR joins scores of other companies using mushrooms in powder form. Many are replacing their coffee routines with the powder. It has a fraction of caffeine which is attractive to those who usually go decaf. As you can imagine mushrooms are not tasty on their own, so MUD/WTR has cacao, masala chai, turmeric, and cinnamon blended into the mix, all of which add additional benefits to the 4 types of mushroom in the powder! MUD/WTR states all of there mushrooms are grown in California. The company also offers a rechargeable mixer that blends and gives the mix a froth touch. Audra has been adding a scoop of MUD/WTR to 8 ounces of decaf coffee, then adds a scoop of collagen protein and a splash of almond milk. She pours over ice and tops with heavy whipping cream.
