The Horry County Sheriff’s Office received a special kind of thank you. This is a great example how your actions affect and alter the course of someone’s life. The HCSO posted on their Facebook after receiving a thank you card from a woman who was recently booked and released from J. Reuben Long Detention Center. The card was addressed to Cpl Darlene Davis and Officer Vangeline May. The inside read, “to great people, you all changed me for the better.” On a side note, that card came on a special day. It just happen to be officer may’s birthday!
The Myrtle Beach Fire Department received a generous donation from two kids who’ve been among the department’s biggest fans. Keegan and Brody’s lemonade and cookie stand was used to spread good in the community and to show support of those who serve. They raised more than $400 to help the MBFD ocean rescue team get more ocean rescue equipment. That helps not only the beach here but anyone in the city limits.
An update to the story we brought you last week. Remember the young man who ran into a burning house in Indiana – twice – to save four kids and an 18-year-old from the flames. He even jumped through the window with a 6 year old. The community has raised money to cover his medical bills. If you missed it, a house in Lafayette, Indiana caught fire in the middle of the night last week. Nicholas Bostic saved 4 kids and an 18-year-old. He was driving home from work when he saw the flames. so he pulled over, and called 911 . He ran inside to wake everyone up and got four of them out. then went back in after discovering a six-year-old girl was still inside. He jumped out a second-story window. He was taken to the hospital afterwards, he had a deep cut on his forearm among some other things. His bill has pretty much been taken care of through a Gofundme page set up for him.
