House Select Committee Holds Prime Time Meeting

The House committee investigating the Capitol Riots held it’s final public hearing until the fall last night. Among the topics included were a video of former President Trump refusing to publicly condemn the unfolding insurrection at the U.S. Capitol or to call off the violent mob. The hearing was co-led by Representative Elaine Luria of Virginia and Representative Adam Kinzinger of Illinois. Two of former President Trump’s White House aides who resigned in the aftermath of the attack Matthew Pottinger and Sarah Matthews were also in attendance and testified in person. The committee will take a summer break and the next public hearing will take place in September.
