North Myrtle Beach Officer-Involved Shooting Suspect Identified

Police are still searching for a man who exchanged gunfire with local authorities. This morning around 2 a.m. North Myrtle Beach Police were attempting to serve a warrant to William Alston who fired shots at them, resulting in officers firing back. Residents in the Tanglewood and Ironwood areas near Barefoot Landing were asked to stay indoors as they searched for Alston. Fortunately no officers were injured during the incident. SWAT and SLED responded to the scene and police dogs were also used to track the suspect. As of 11 a.m. it’s been reported that police have the incident contained to the area.
