Cameron Smith Wins 2022 Open Championship
Over the weekend, Cameron Smith made history when he won his first major title overcoming Rory McIlroy to win the Open championship. Smith began with five birdies on the back nine and ultimately ended with an 8-under 64 which is the lowest final round by a champion in the 30 year history of the tournament being played at St. Andrews. Smith won by 1 shot over Cameron Young. Smith’s most recent victory prior to the Open was the Players Championship and he’s now number 2 in the world behind Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler and is the first Australian to win the Open since Greg Norman in 1993.
