Graham Moves to Quash Subpoena from Georgia Grand Jury

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham is aiming to quash his subpoena for his testimony before an Atlanta-area special grand jury investigating former President Trump’s efforts to overturn the 2020 election results in Georgia. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, who is leading the investigation said in court filings that the grand jury needed to hear from Graham about at least two calls he made to Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger and his staff in the wake of the 2020 election. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Robert McBurney signed off on the subpoena. Graham argues that his contact with Georgia officials “is legislative activity falling under his fact-finding and oversight responsibilities” as the then chairman of the senate judiciary committee.
