Steve Bannon Agrees to Testify Before January 6th Committee

On Saturday, Steve Bannon told the House Select Committee investigating that Capitol Riots that he’s willing to testify at a public hearing. His decision comes after he received a letter from Former President Trump waving executive privilege although both the committee and federal prosecutors said the privilege claim never gave Bannon the option to ignore his subpoena. Last year, Bannon was charged with two counts of criminal contempt of Congress and argued that he was free to ignore his congressional subpoena in order to protect Trump’s privilege claims. Bannon is currently set to go on trial on July 18th.
