Over 300,000 Children Under 5 Have Been Vaccinated in the U.S.

According to a White House official, 300,000 children under the age of 5 in the United States have received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine since it was recommended by the CDC. The FDA gave Emergency Use Authorization on June 17th for both the Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna vaccines for young children and advisors for the CDC voted unanimously on June 18th to support recommending Covid-19 vaccinations for children as young as 6 months with vaccine administration beginning shortly after that. According to the official, the data presented was ‘very much in line’ with the Biden administration’s expectations for the age group but significantly behind those in other age groups.
