Protests Continue in Ohio as Shooting Details Surface

More information on the shooting of 25 year old Jayland Walker in Akron, Ohio has been released. During a news conference on Sunday, 13 body camera videos were turned over to the public. According to police, Walker had fled an attempted traffic stop on June 27th and was unarmed at the time he was killed. A gun was found in Walker’s vehicle after the shooting and officers said he fired a gun from his vehicle during the chase. Akron Mayor Dan Horrigan declared a state of emergency and issued a curfew last night from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. ‘in order to preserve peace in the community’, fireworks were also canceled. An investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations is ongoing.
