Florida Judge Allows Lawsuit Filed by Petito Family Against Laundries to Move Forward
Yesterday, a Florida judge ruled that a lawsuit filed by Gabby Petito’s parents against Brian Laundrie’s parents can move forward. In the order, Circuit Court Judge Hunter Carroll said that most of the complaints from the Petito’s ‘involve the Laundries failing to act’ and the judge also wrote that if the case were about the Laundries remaining silent and they had done so, he would have ruled for the Laundries-but they weren’t silent. Gabby was found dead last September in Wyoming after embarking on a road trip with Laundrie who at the time was her fiancé. A coroner ruled that she died by strangulation and after returning home to Florida, Laundrie was found dead a few weeks later, a medical examiner ruled his death as suicide.
